Here is a couple of lead/bass instruments with a retro touch. I used some PWM tricks and such to make some interesting sounds without using DSPs.
The instrument is basically built with single cycle wave and volume and pitch modulations.
The advantage of not using dsp chains is that you can use the instruments in any track and up to 12 notes [size=4]polyphony[/size][size=4]. Also the CPU usage is minimal.[/size]
There are some built-in phrases, RC1 has some chord phrases turned on by default, so don't worry, just turn them off to get single notes.
